December 2021
Well, what a year that has been (again!). It has impacted on everyone on different levels. A roller coaster of emotions and experiences for people to navigate.
We hear a lot of advice from many ‘positive thinkers’ to cut out ‘negative’ people from life. I have seen this escalating during the last 2 years and sadly, even greater divides are now occurring in society, resulting in complete breakdowns of families, relationships and friendships.
Most people, if not all, have periods in life when they may struggle to see any light in the darkness. I understand how some people stay stuck, and it can become a comfort zone, with people who try to help them for a long time, becoming frustrated, exhausted and giving up. I want to take this opportunity to say if you have someone in your life you feel may be struggling, remember whilst we are not here to ‘rescue’ anyone, simply making that person aware you are there for them could make the world of difference, and help them find their way back. Happy, smiley photos on social media does not mean their world is amazing, always look beyond what you see.
Dental Surgery Journey
My amalgam removals and root canal extractions were completed in September 2021, but an OPG x-ray showed some surgery remained outstanding. This was done at the beginning of October and later that month I had x-rays and a 3D scan. I assumed all surgery was now completed, and I could finally begin my detox and recovery. Sadly, I discovered for the second time, that more surgery is needed, and I feel devastated. Not only will this mean more stress and worry of financing thousands of pounds, but there will be more pain and recovery to endure in the coming year.
My fundraising platform on Go Fund Me remains open for donations, as does my search for a dentist to complete the surgery required.
I am not a big fan of New Year’s Resolutions, and after the last two years, I think most of you will agree health and happiness is even more a priority.
There is a wealth of health advice online, often confusing and overwhelming. Attempting too many changes at once can feel too much, so be kind to yourself and make small changes, and do things in your own time.
From my personal challenges and experiences, as a non-health ‘expert’ on a health journey, here are some areas I am working on. I hope this list will help inspire you, to explore ways you could support your health and wellbeing:
- Go back to basics
- Keep it simple
- Do not overthink it
- Listen to your body
- Cut out refined sugar
- Reduce and eventually cut out processed foods
- Invest in a water filter
- Stay hydrated
- Take Vitamin C, Vitamin D3/K2, Zinc liposomals as a good
foundation (check these do not interact with any existing
medications)
- Give your body the sleep it needs
- Limit your screen time on devices
- Reduce time on social media or detox completely!
- Reduce stress
- Surround yourself with people who make you happy, who care
and believe in you
